Ametrine is such a fascinating stone - discovered in Bolivia - and it remains the only place in the world to get natural ametrine. Because citrine and amethyst come from the quartz family - you can see how you can get two stones combining so fluidly together. Of course, due to its beauty there have been ways developed to grow the crystal - however, these are usually very dark in colour due to the heat and pressure. These ametrines are pale and beautiful and at 9x7mm each they are a whopping 2.25ct in each ear - which is wonderfully sizeable for a pair of earrings. Held in four claw settings the emerald cut stones are effortlessly elegant and the glints of purple and yellow shimmer as you move. The earrings are in lovely condition and have been fitted with brand new large gold butterflies - making them super secure too.
